Dragon1 Templates: Accelerate your work as Specialist

Dragon1 offers a comprehensive set of professional templates that help you work faster and more efficiently when modeling, visualizing, and analyzing architectural information (standardization, security).

Each template supports the clear and flexible structuring of processes, information flows, and organizational structures.

What are Dragon1 templates?

Dragon1 templates are pre-configured visual templates that allow you to quickly create a specific type of model, diagram, or visualization. These templates are ideal for making strategic, tactical, and operational enterprise architecture products.

The flexibility of the templates makes them suitable for both small project teams and large-scale, organization-wide projects.

Visualizations can be created from the templates by dragging entities onto the canvas.

You can click through to entities, objects, elements, components, and symbols from one visualization to another. This creates a dynamic network of visualizations that complement each other; each visualization functions as a building block in a larger, integrated architecture solution.

These architecture solutions can be presented to stakeholders in atlases.

Users can quickly switch between overview and detail, allowing them to highlight relevant aspects depending on the issue and the solution to be built.

This not only promotes clear documentation but also makes it easier to involve various stakeholders and provide insight into the interrelationships between business objectives, processes, and technology.

The Dragon1 Templates facilitate easy integration with existing frameworks, methodologies, and languages, including TOGAF, UML, BiSL, ITIL, and ArchiMate. This enables architects to not only optimize their working methods but also communicate more easily with stakeholders from various disciplines.

Four ways visualizing your architecture data

  1. Use a Template in the Workplace via the Generator

The Generator allows you to automatically create visualizations based on data in your repository or an Excel sheet. Here's how it works:

    • Select a template in the Generator interface.
    • Upload a datasheet (CSV or Excel) or connect your repository.
    • Dragon1 automatically generates a visual representation based on the selected template.
    • You can edit the result directly in the Visual Designer.

  2. Tailor a Custom Visualization Template in the Visual Designer

In the Visual Designer, you can choose a template as a starting point to manually build or modify a visualization:

    • Open a new model or diagram.
    • Select an existing template as a starting point.
    • Customize the layout, components, and colors.

  3. Populate Visualization Template in the Viewer via Excel Sheets

Dragon1 templates can also be used for automatically or manually generated visualizations:

    • Enter data in an Excel sheet
    • Upload the Excel sheet to the Viewer
    • Select a template into which the data should be imported

  4. Use with the API for integration

Advanced users can also use the templates via the Dragon1 API:

    • Integrate with external data sources (e.g., CMDB, CRM).
    • Trigger automatically generated visualizations when data changes.
    • Use templates as the default output format.
