Enterprise Architecture Building Blocks

Related to principles and patterns, concepts and capabilities, architects make use of building blocks. A building block is defined in the Dragon1 method as a stack of functionality and or technology. The purpose of building blocks is to reduce complexity in systems and increase performance and quality. Once a stack is built and tested, it can be rolled out to anywhere.

An example of a stack is your smartphone: technology+hardware+operating system+apps+UI design+image+culture.
