Responsibility Definition

The definition of responsibility: a responsibility is the set of tasks, activities, or actions an actor is expected to perform or allowed to do according to their role.

Example: The responsibility of an Elderly Woman (Actor) as a Shopper (Role) on a webshop (System) is to 'Register for the Webshop' (Task), 'Add Items to A Cart' (Task), and 'Pay for the Items' (Task).

'Responsibility' has important relationships with 'Actor' and 'Role'.

A responsibility defines the task an actor is expected to do because of their role (their position in a process).

In a responsibility assignment matrix, you can create an overview of project tasks and responsibilities of actors.
