Visualize processes and data flows across several departments
Dragon1 is the name of software as a services (saas) platform consisting of collaborating applications. These applications help people to generate (data) visualizations and to communicate and improve the data and decision-making with these visualizations.

All applications that Dragon1 includes are integrated, work with a shared set of IT services and work with one single source of truth.
The applications on the platform are used as Enterprise Software in medium and large organizations. The Dragon1 application software addresses the needs of an entire organization's processes and data flows, across several departments, often in a large distributed environment.
On this page, it will be explained how Dragon1 works with your data, and where the application and your data is or could be.
Depending on your needs you can use Dragon1 via standard end-user license agreement (EULA) and default rates (see SaaS) or work with a tailored end-user delivery model contract (see PaaS or IaaS).
The Dragon1 Application Software in the Cloud
The cloud applications of Dragon1 are never installed on your computer. They are always installed on a server in a cloud that is available via the internet and managed by us. Taking away all kinds of unnecessary maintenance overhead from you. You will always have an updated and available version of the tool and you will never have any installation, migration, or integration issues.
You can use Dragon1 on any client device or personal computer that has access to the internet. Examples of devices you can use are: smartphones, tablet PCs, laptops and desktops.
A Single Source of Truth
All the cloud applications that Dragon1 consists of, work with one database only. This creates a working environment with one single source of truth. This ensures that no inconsistent versions of data can appear. Suppose you have a source database for certain data but you want to use that data in Dragon1, you can configure that specific data in your database to be shadowed in the Dragon1 database. Every update you do in your database will automatically be seen in Dragon1, ensuring the user of Dragon1 works with a single source of truth.
Security and Single Sign-on
Dragon1 by default comes with RBAC, meaning role-based access control. Based on your credentials after login you have or don't have access to the application, functionality and databases and data. The connection is either http or https, depending on your preference and the software is equipped with Anti SQL Injection and Intruder Detection Lockout, logging and other security concepts, providing you with a secure cloud-based application to trust your company data to like you do with online banking.
You can choose to integrate login in with your Single Sign-on solution. More information on that we provide to customers on a need-to-know basis.
Your data can be in the cloud or on premise
As a user, you have the option to choose to have your data placed on a shared database in a public cloud, or your own private database in a public cloud. You can also choose to have your database on-premise or in your own private cloud. Therefore you can have as much control over availability and access to your data as you want or demand.
Three different delivery models
Provides you with three different secure delivery models. Which one suits you best, depends on your personal needs.
SaaS - Pay per use - Software as a Service is the most common delivery model. It means that you choose to work with Dragon1 via the standard secure (https) installation on www.dragon1.com, pay only peruse, and store your data in a shared database that is in the cloud. Normal user license rates apply for this. You can interface from and to the Dragon1 application and data using URL connections (http:// and ftp://) and with SOAP/WSDL software services.
If you choose our SaaS delivery model no other contract will apply other than the End-User License Agreement (EULA) that is applicable when you pay for the user license and use the software.
PaaS - Choose your database dimensions - Platform as a Service is the second common delivery model. It means that you choose to work with Dragon1 via a highly secured tunneled installation (VPN) on www.dragon1.com and store your data in a database that is in the cloud or on your premise. You can choose the dimensions and location of the database that is used. You can interface from and to the Dragon1 application and data using URL connections (http:// and ftp://) and with SOAP/WSDL software services. Special rates for this delivery model apply.
If you choose our PaaS delivery model, another contract will apply next to the End-User License Agreement (EULA) that is applicable when you pay for the user license and use the software. In that End User PaaS Delivery contract we will agree on custom settings of the database and availability/backup delivery of your data.
IaaS - Choose your hardware and software dimensions - Infrastructure as a Service is the third common delivery model. It means that you choose to work with Dragon1 via a highly secured tunneled installation (VPN) on www.dragon1.com and store your data in a database that is in the cloud or on your premise. You can choose the dimensions of the server the Dragon1 application software runs on and the dimensions of the database that is used. You can interface from and to the Dragon1 application and data using URL connections (http:// and ftp://) and with SOAP/WSDL software services. Special rates for this delivery model apply. If you choose our IaaS delivery model, also another contract will apply.
Main differences between Iaas, Paas and SaaS: With IaaS you get to choose hardware and software options. With PaaS, you get to choose database options. With SaaS you cannot choose hardware, software or database options, you just pay-per-use.
